Caption ops notes from an RWA meetup
How we ran captions at a real-world-asset tokenization meetup mixing Korean speakers and an international crowd — from glossary setup to a live hot-fix.
The RWA (Real World Asset) meetup held on May 12 mixed four Korean speakers with an audience that was roughly 30% international. At events like this, international attendees usually either slip out halfway through a talk, or the organizer has to absorb interpreter costs.
Before the event — start with the slides
We collected slide PDFs from the four speakers three days ahead and uploaded them to barotalk. The glossary auto-filled 18 terms — RWA, Ondo Finance, BlackRock BUIDL, Maker DAO, Stablecoin and more — and the operator only had to touch up four of them. Once the glossary review is done before doors open, technical terms go out exactly as intended.
During — a single hot-fix
Midway through the second talk, the term 'DePIN' came up for the first time. It wasn't in the glossary, so it went out as 'Depin'. The operator spotted it and hot-fixed it once to 'DePIN — Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network', and it rendered correctly for the rest of the event. The speaker never noticed, and the audience never lost the thread.

After — a report within 10 minutes
Twelve minutes after the event ended, the report landed in our inbox: 124 attendees, 1 hour 12 minutes of talks, the top 3 questions, and full caption transcripts in four languages (KO·EN·JP·ZH). We used it as-is to build the agenda for the next event.
